M106
is a large (one of the largest and brightest nearby
galaxies) spiral galaxy, located in the constellation
Canes Venatici at a distance of about 24 million
light-years.
The other galaxies at the picture are relatively bright
spiral NGC 4248 above M106 and much weaker (16th mag.) UGC
7356 to the right. Some other smaller galaxies can be
seen in the background as well.
